For our second episode of the inaugural Tallawah Talks series, we are delighted to have been able to sit down with Jessica Santana, a changemaker working to make the tech industry more equitable and inclusive for the next generation of America's workforce.
Jessica is the Co-Founder and CEO of America On Tech (AOT), an early pipeline tech talent accelerator creating pathways for over 2,000 underrepresented students into technology and innovation, spanning all five boroughs of NYC and now LA.
She has received numerous prestigious awards & recognition for her work, including Forbes 30 Under 30, Ashoka / American Express Emerging Innovator, NYN 40 Under 40 Rising Stars, World Economic Forum Global Shaper, the title of Brooklyn Hero by New York State for her actions during COVID, and has been named one of 50 Visionary Women Leaders to Watch by innov8tiv Magazine.
Jessica has dedicated her life to empowering youth and leveraging technology as a vehicle for self-determination. She is a perfect guest to continue the conversation where Sara Minkara left off from our first Tallawah Talks episode.
In this episode, Jessica shares why she chose tech as an industry, why she sees developing pathways in this space as a social justice issue, how she balances the responsibility of being one of the ‘first’ while also attempting to pave a path forward for others like her and people in her community. It is worth every minute.
